This is my 22nd Polar Plunge with three more years to go (this was my challenge with former jumper Doug Northey). I have raised $17,471 to date for six different charities. I have won 5 awards over the years including 1st place best costume, 3rd place best costume, honourable mention best costume and most money raised (both individual and team). Two of my four children have joined me on the jumps throughout the years as well as my niece and former and present co-workers. The students at both St. Martin’s School in Ennismore (where I taught for seven years) and St. Joseph’s School in Douro (where I currently teach) have raised thousands of dollars over the past 20 years. Before teaching, I jumped for two years (1998 and 1999) as a newspaper reporter for the Peterborough Examiner newspaper.
